and my computer is too! Woohoo. So much has been going on I don't even know where to start.
I suppose I'll attempt something akin to chronological order?....
The Big Crafty.
A shot of my booth in the quiet, pre-show minutes.
I'll confess to not taking another photo after that one on the whole trip. Why? I have know idea! Asheville is such a cool place with all sorts of photo opps...I just missed them all this time. I did, however, receive a charming treat in the form of a visit from that lovely Lavender Dreamer herself!...
How great it was to meet Diane in person...what a sweetie! (A friendly bystander took that photo for me).
And I did a little shopping at the show...
Two perfectly adorable crocheted cacti from Catzilla Crafts.
A big and beautiful felt flower from Miss Fitt & Co.
It can be worn in my hair, as a brooch or on a ribbon around my neck. I LOVE it! And that Wendy is quite the little doll.
I also did a some shopping in town...
A GIANT cherry wood ladle by Dennis Ruane from the Woolworth Walk .
Perfect for serving hosta stew it seems.
And a book from Earth Guild.
I got yarn too and planned to attempt my first pair of socks...
But ended up making a pair of arm warmers because I don't have to follow directions for those or pay much attention to what I'm doing so I could work on them in the car (during the seemingly endless hours I've been on the road lately)....and...everyone needs new arm warmers in July, right?
Let me tell you, there is a ridiculous selection of very good restaurants to choose from in Asheville. During this trip, for the first time ever,I paid a visit to Rosetta's Kitchen. Wholly-molly that was awesome...food and atmosphere were both just my style.
Now if you can stand to read on a bit longer...
The Shadow Art Fair.
My booth before the madness.
This year I had the good fortune to set up across from Mr. Cre Fuller and his Tin Angry Men...
I couldn't resist getting these fellas to add to my collection.
And the madness begins...
It was PACKED all day (and night. The show lasted from noon till midnight). But oh what fun! Mike Ambs made a really cool video of the show. You can watch it here. My few seconds of fame are kind of close to the beginning...of course I'm cracking up...if you don't already know, I'm an uncontrollable giggle box.
Doug and I took turns walking Sebastian around the area every couple of hours.
This sign was in the park a few blocks from the show. What do you suppose that means?
I also did some shopping at this show (honestly, how could I not?)
A headband made from recycled T-shirts by Talking Squid.
And a darling little felt brooch by The Proper Peach.
So, after those two shows, of the 10 new mounted heads I never got a chance to show you, only three remain...
Baxter
Beatrice
Ida & Ophelia
Have no fear. I've got eleven more in progress that I hope to have finished before Art on the Lawn on August 8.
Now, because I do enjoy a full and busy life, I've got to pack for the Morehead Oldtime Fiddlers Convention. We're leaving this afternoon. Doug will be playin' a couple tunes in the Banjo contest this year. Wish him luck!
